UAE & GCC
The new tier targets mid-career specialists — product managers, senior engineers, creative directors — not just executives and investors. Portfolio and measurable-impact evidence are now explicit requirements. If your online identity is scattered across LinkedIn and a dormant Behance, now's the moment to consolidate.
A mid-career visa, finally
The 5-year Golden Visa tier is a quiet but significant shift in how the UAE defines professional worth. Previous Golden Visa tiers were weighted toward capital (investors), publicity (celebrities), or credentials (doctors, PhDs). The new mid-career tier is the first one keyed to something fuzzier: evidence of specialist impact.
The criteria list is still being finalised, but early signals point to:
- Portfolio evidence — shipped work, not just a CV
- Minimum 5 years of domain experience
- Salary floor at AED 30,000/month
- Endorsement from a recognised employer or industry body
Years-of-experience is easy to verify; "endorsement" is where the government is outsourcing due diligence to employers who have skin in the game.
What to prepare
If you're in Dubai or Abu Dhabi and eligible, now is the moment to consolidate your online identity. Immigration officers — and the companies endorsing you — will Google your name. Make sure the first page of results is clean, current, and tells a coherent story.
That means:
- One source of truth for your professional identity — ideally a page you control
- Portfolio evidence tied to that page, with dates
- Consistent title + location across LinkedIn, your portfolio, email signatures
- A professional email that matches the domain you send CVs from
The applications open in June
The visa processing pipeline opens in June 2026, and the first batch of applications will be high-signal — these will move fastest. If you're in the pool, the next 6 weeks are about cleaning your professional footprint, not about the application itself.
